The unity of faith is expressed by the knowledge of Jesus Christ, both relationally and experientially. Faith grows as the knowledge of Jesus Christ is gained through studying the Word of God and through the experiences of daily life. The unity of the faith means trusting in Jesus Christ . Jesus prayed for you and I that we would be one – in unity with God and in unity with each other. Of all the different ways that the church is described in the Bible, I think the body of Christ is the best illustration of all. Like a physical body, no part seeks only it’s . Fifty years ago, Dei Verbum called Catholics to reflect on the inherent unity of the "one table of the word of God and the body of Christ." Drawing from a variety of ancient and modern insights, the author proposes a fresh view of word and sacrament as interrelated facets of God's one enduring revelation. Unity in the Body of Christ's purpose: nourish pastors, congregations, with quality expository Bible studies, topical studies on evangelism, prayer, Christian growth and church history. This unity of which Paul wrote is not one which the Christian needs to create, but one which already exists and must be diligently preserved (vs. 3). It is based upon our sharing life in one body, the universal church, the body of Christ (vs. 5, cf. ,16). All Christians are sealed, possessed, and indwelt by the same Spirit and look forward. The Holy Spirit is the Advocate of the Lord Jesus, and it is Jesus Christ Who is being represented by the Holy Spirit, yet everything the Spirit does, is done for the sake of the unity of His body. Now, our Advocate, the Holy Spirit who dwells in the believers, adds to the Church daily, uniting all to one Body.
